Ella Hooper & Gena Rose Bruce Announce National ‘Calamine Sisters’ Tour

Former Killing Heidi singer Ella Hooper and award-winning singer-songwriter Gena Rose Bruce have announced they’ll be hitting the road together later this year, as they embark on their Calamine Sisters national tour.

With both Hooper and Bruce sporting red-hot new releases, they’ve decided to team up and tour together instead of going the tired route of having one support the other on the road.

Switching back and forth between electric and acoustic guitar, Hooper and Bruce will serve as each other’s backing band on the Calamine Sisters tour, which kicks off this July. What’s even more exciting is that they’ll be singing together, so brace for some blissful harmonies.

Having bonded over a shared sense of the “fragile vs. fierce nature of femininity” (I’m guessing more fierce than fragile for these two rocking ladies), these ‘Calamine Sisters’ found a musical connection between their work.

While Ella’s latest release Venom/New Magic trades in blues and gloomy pop reminiscent of the ’90s and Gena’s Mad Love EP leanstowards twangy femme fatales, playing together has proven to be in turns “raw, rocking and entrancing”.

Eager to get out and play to their fans while further exploring their musical connection, Hooper and Bruce have plotted 17 shows together through to the end of August. Catch all the tour dates and ticket details below, alongside Hooper’s song Monkey Mind and Bruce’s song Good Thing.
