Eminem Admits Homophobic Tyler, The Creator Diss Maybe Went “Too Far”

Eminem has admitted a homophobic Tyler, The Creator diss he included on his latest album Kamikaze maybe went “too far”.

Speaking with musician Sway on the latest instalment of a multi-part interview about the album, Eminem said he hurt “a lot of other people” by calling Tyler a “f****t” on the Kamikaze track ‘Fall’.

“I think the word that I called him on that song was one of the things where I felt like this might be too far,” he said.

“Because in my quest to hurt him, I realise that I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it… It was one of the things that I kept going back to and going, ‘I don’t feel right with this.'”

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, who features on ‘Fall’, disowned the song shortly after its release, telling fans he was “not a fan of the message”.

In his interview with Sway, Eminem said he dissed Tyler after taking offence to comments Tyler and Earl Sweatshirt had made about him during interviews and on social media, including Earl saying, “If you still follow Eminem, you drink way too much Mountain Dew.”

Eminem said his “breaking point” came when Tyler criticised his Beyoncé collaboration ‘Walk On Water’.
