Eminem Talks New Album, Continuing To Work With Dre

As we reported back in May, Eminem, who really needs no introduction at all, had announced that he had begun toying with ideas for the follow-up to 2010’s Recovery. Now, in a recent interview with Shade 45 presenter DJ Whoo Kid, Shady has given more insight into the highly anticipated release.

The release will have huge shoes to fill after Recovery blew doors and minds the whole world over, though Mathers has confirmed that he will be bringing long-time collaborator and partner in crime Dr Dre on board for album number 8.

The rap demi god has put his full focus into the release, which even involved postponing his involvement in an up-and-coming feature film Southpaw. Telling DJ Whoo Kid, Eminem said “I’m not that far along in the process as far as like figuring out. Of course Dr. Dre will be involved. I don’t have anything with him yet. What I usually do is I’ll get going you know and kind of start going in a certain direction or whatever, and just record what I’m feeling or whatever. I get a few songs, and then I get kind of a direction, and then I’ll go see Dre and fill in some of those pieces.”

The musician is normally very introverted when it comes to his writing process, giving further insight into just how Dre and himself work their magic: “You know, Dre will listen and I’ll see what he thinks I’m missing or you know I might come to him and say ‘I think I’m missing this kind of record’ or ‘what if I went in this direction’ or whatever.”

As NME states, Eminem’s latest release is his collaboration with Royce Da 5’9′. The two released an EP Hell: The Sequel under the moniker Bad Meets Evil back in 2011.
