Mad hatters and remix geniuses Captain Cuts have struck again, this time unveiling a mash-up playlist The Life Of Emo featuring the most seminal tracks from the emo wave with a variety of time tested, and fresh hip hop and electronic beats.
Like we really need to say it, but the results are glorious.
Just about all of your emo favourites from the early 2000 are included here – The Used, especially timely considering their current tour supporting their first two albums, Blink 182 (always timely) and Fall Out Boy. Of course, the list delves even deeper into the genre to appease the purists. Starting Line, Brand New and Taking Back Sunday are also seamlessly woven into the mix.
Seeing as how the internet refuses to let them rest in peace, My Chemical Romance were also included and mixed with Pitbull + Lunchmoney Lewis x The Chainsmokers *TAKES BREATH* + The Him x The Beatles for a huge outro from the 25:22 mark.
There will be points, my fellow emos, where you’re filled with rage at such mistreatment of lyrics that carried you through your awkward stage but c’mon…It’s pretty fun, right?
