EXCLUSIVE: Watch Twenty One Pilots’ New Live Video ‘House Of Gold’

Ohio’s sons twenty one pilots have been making international waves since the release of their debut album Vessel. Today, Music Feeds is proud to present the world premiere of the band’s new video for House Of Gold.

Over the past few years frontman Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun have built a hardcore following, capturing audiences with their genre-bending abilities. Their debut saw the band work with Grammy-nominated producer Greg Wells (Weezer, Aerosmith, Katy Perry) to craft an album which merges elements of hip-hop, indie rock and punk.

“We’re not trying to consciously do something different but we’ve just never emulated any other bands,” Joseph explains. “We’ve never fit into any particular scene so we figured we would just make our own.”

At the top of this new clip frontman Joseph explains, “There’s no cool way of holding a ukelele, without playing it,” and then, of course, proceeds to play it. The video moves from live performances across Detroit, showcasing twenty one pilots’ devout following.

The band’s live performances have always been integral to their act and their refusal to be lumped into any particular genre is a trait that has endeared them to fans. “I don’t think there are a lot of bands that can play a hardcore show one night or a hip-hop show the next night and know that it will work,” said Dun.

“We want our fans to leave all of their problems at the door and immerse themselves in the music, the moment, when we perform live,” he said. “In the end it’s a giant release for everybody.”

twenty one pilots recently gave Australia a taste of that “release”, touring the country with Paramore and You Me At Six. Check out the new video, and a gallery of stills from their Australian tour, below.
