Set your alarms – the line up announcement for Falls Festival 2013/2014 will be taking place just after 8am Monday morning on our favourite breakfast radio show, triple j’s Breakfast with Tom & Alex. It was announced Friday via the New Year’s festival’s official Facebook page that the lineup would be unveiled on Monday, 12th August, and now we’ve got it down to the closest hour.
The 2013/2014 lineup has been kept thoroughly under wraps, though speculation is high for Vampire Weekend to headline the event, as their music was used to soundtrack the latest festival teaser vids.
Earlier in the year The Roots announced that they would be heading Down Under in time for New Year’s and Grizzly Bear‘s Ed Droste has also hinted at the band coming to Australia around New Year’s time. See below for our hot tips on who else could be making the trip for New Year’s.
Celebrating its 17th year on the Australian music scene, 2013 will also see the festival expanding into new territory. It’s being taken up to Byron Bay where it will share the same turf as Splendour In The Grass – the North Byron Parklands – making use of the area’s “natural amphitheatres, lakes and tree coverage”, though the festival’s keen to avoid the pitfalls that made Splendour a logistical nightmare late last month.
Falls Festival is also giving away a free double pass for this year’s event – simply head over to the Falls website, enter your details and you’ll be notified as soon as the lineup is released as well as entered into the draw to win.
Of course Music Feeds will have the full Falls Festival 2013 lineup online the second its announced so be sure to check back right here tomorrow morning. If the buzz is anything to go by, this year’s Falls is sure to be a cracker.
