The cats behind Falls Festival have announced via Facebook that the first lineup for the 2013 / 2014 event will be announced Monday, 12th August in the AM. The announcement will also come hand in hand with the first opportunity to win a double pass to the event.
It’s going to be a big year for the brand, which will be extending their New Year’s festivities upwards to Byron Bay. There it will share the same new gaff as Splendour In The Grass – North Byron Parklands – though will occupy a separate section of the reserve, which by the looks and sounds of things is a absolute oasis.
Falls has done a cracker of a job keeping the lineup for this year’s event under wraps, though it was inevitable that certain acts found themselves on the rumour mill. Vampire Weekend are the hot tip after soundtracking the latest teaser video for the festival. The Roots have said they’re playing New Year’s shows, and they definitely seem like Falls material. Grizzly Bear‘s Ed Droste has also said they’ll be making the trip Down Under in time for the New Year’s – whether they’re playing gigs or not is another story.
The festival is also encouraging fans to do their own legwork for the lineup announcement, throwing in the chance to win a double pass to make things even more interesting. Simply head to their website, chuck in your details and you’ll be emailed the lineup details as well as being entered into the draw.
Of course, nothing moves faster than the speed of social media, so you can be sure to find the lineup on Music Feeds first thing Monday morning as well. Check the latest teaser vids, and get excited – summer’s just around the corner! Sort of!
