Fans Demand Refunds After Drake Makes ’90-Second’ Appearance At Melbourne Afterparty

Drake fans are demanding refunds after the Canadian rapper allegedly refused to host an “official afterparty” in Melbourne on Sunday night.

News Corp Australia reports that Drizzy appeared at the “hosted by Drake” afterparty at Crown’s Therapy nightclub for only 90 seconds, as 500 fans who paid up to $105 for a ticket watched him “halfheartedly” wave to the crowd.

Despite allegedly being contracted to host the event for 60 to 90 minutes, Drake was reportedly spotted sitting in the VIP area of the club for most of the party.

“There was no communication from anyone on stage as to when Drake would be there or what was going on,” one angry fan told News Corp.

“Drake just stood on the balcony for all of two minutes. He didn’t even say a word, we were absolutely gutted. We should all be receiving an apology and a refund.”

News Corp says it understands that the afterparty’s promoters Whateva Entertainment and Bearzerk Presents are now in discussions with lawyers.

A spokesperson for Bearzerk said that Drake “failed to honour his contractual obligations” on the night.

“Drake did not deliver what was stipulated in his contract. He turned up at the venue but did not host the after-party or engage with people,” they said.

“The engagement contract stipulates Drake would make an after-party appearance, including hosting of 60 to 90 minutes. This was not delivered.”

Last week, Drake stopped his Sydney afterparty to threaten a fan who was allegedly groping women in the crowd.

The Views rapper played three shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena this week as part of his Boy Meets World tour. He has since returned home, taking to Instagram to say, “18 hour flight home now.”
