First Aid Kit Australian Tour 2012/2013 – Falls Festival Sideshows

Written by Mike Hohnen on October 2, 2012

Another Falls and Southbound Festival sideshow is confirmed! Keep ’em coming I say. This time round we’ve got First Aid Kit, with two shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

Clearly these guys need very little introduction to Aussie fans, who snapped up every single ticket to their sold-out concert earlier this year – their third Aussie tour all up. Prior to ringing in the new year at Falls Festival, the Swedish sisters will be showcasing their harmonic melodies at two of the most intimate venues in both Sydney and Melbourne.

You can be sure to hear tunes off the duo’s latest release The Lion’s Roar. Released back in Jan of this year, the album was given the re-issue service and re-released with a new single, Wolf, as well as an on-the-road documentary, single videos, poster, a 20 page booklet and a First Aid Kit guitar pick.

The music is so infectious that Jack White himself stated: “I wanted to just sit there and listen to them rehearse over and over again”, after a session at his Nashville-based Third Man Recording Studios in 2010. It’s no surprise why Australia loves First Aid Kit so much.

This tour has some serious ‘sold-out’ potential, so I’d suggest getting in sooner rather than later.
