Flea & Thom Yorke Release First New Collaboration ‘Other Side’

As noted by Diffuser, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and RHCP’s Flea have actually been in cahoots since 2009. Along with longstanding Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, the three musicians formed Atoms for Peace three years ago to perform Yorke’s 2006 solo record The Eraser. (In fact the super group took it’s name from the song Atoms for Peace from The Eraser).

Now three years after their formation, Atoms for Peace have finally released their first original material. Other Side (Stuck Together Remix) apparently not a cover of RHCP’s 2000 single Otherside, features as a B-Side on the super group’s debut release: a remix of Other Lives’ Tamer Animals, who have toured with Bon Iver and previously opened for Radiohead.

The two-track EDM single is slated for release August 3, 2012 and will be available digitally. It was also on limited edition hand-numbered white label vinyl, but according to At Ease Web, it has already sold out (probably double check though if you’re a super keen vinyl collector).

In other upcoming releases, Flea has a solo EP and RCHP are ready to release a series of singles. Meanwhile, Radiohead have been working on some tunes at Jack White’s Third Man Recording Studios.
