Florida Man Uses Identity Of Nickelback Member To Buy Thousands Of Dollars Of Audio Equipment

A Florida man has been accused of stealing the identity of Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair to buy $USD25,000 worth of microphones.

As NY Daily News reports, 45 year-old Lee Howard Koenig who goes by the name of Mr. Wooky was charged with fraud after police discovered he used Adair’s identity to purchase the equipment and had it sent to his Florida address.

Wooky was caught out when a band representative called Adair to confirm the purchase which he obviously denied.

Adair then did some research online before stumbling on Wooky, who apparently uses a similar drum kit to his.

Police later tracked the purchase to Wooky’s IP address and found him.

It’s not the first time he’s been caught for fraud. In 2009, he was sentenced for fraud of $50,000.

According to one of his online profile’s, Wooky has worked with Beach Boys, Billy Joel and played in the Saturday Night Live band.

Given that he’s a known fraud, this information is probably very unreliable.
