Folk Club Finds New Home At Soda Factory, Returns Weekly On Wednesdays

Sydney’s favourite nu folk night, Folk Club, has found a new home at The Soda Factory in Surry Hills and will be returning weekly on Wednesday nights, kicking off from tonight, 1st May.

Folk Club is a free night of live music and is the place to be if you fancy getting up close and personal with some nu folk or alt country. It was inspired by Communion, a UK event started by Ben Lovett (Mumford and Sons), Kevin Jones (Cherbourg) and producer Ian Grimble and is providing a nice little platform for Sydney’s burgeoning folk scene.

Opening night will feature long-time supporter Jack Carty and his band, who played the very first Folk Club. You can also check out The Falls, fresh back from a trip to the US, and Leroy Lee opening the show. After the bands finish, Record Club kicks off, with a classic record being played from start to finish.

Doors open at 5:00pm and the live tunes get going from 8:30pm.
