Foo Fighters Side Project Chevy Metal Cover ‘Under Pressure’ With Dave Grohl

The side project of Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett known as the cover band Chevy Metal has performed over the weekend and, much to the delight of those in attendance at the city of Costa Mesa’s 60th anniversary celebration, good ol’ Dave Grohl was in town to help out with the set – and there’s footage to prove it all happened.

Grohl describes Chevy Metal as his favourite band, and the only band in the world he wishes he was part of. When his moment finally came, Grohl provided vocals and guitar for renditions of Van Halen’s Panama, The Rolling Stones’ Miss You, and The Knacks’ My Sharona as well as a tasty reinterpretation of David Bowie and Queen’s Under Pressure, which you can watch below.

As wicked cool as this might be, surely this time could have been better spent in the studio working on the new album that Hawkins recently confirmed. Not too much is known at this point in time about the follow up to 2011’s Wasting Light, but this certainly isn’t getting it done. Hmph.
