Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins Announces Debut Solo Album, Shares Lead Single

Throughout Foo Fighters‘ massive career, drummer Taylor Hawkins has enjoyed having his fingers in multiple musical pies, like his covers band Chevy Metal for example, along with other side projects the Coattail Riders and Birds of Satan. But today, Hawkins announced his first ever release as a solo artist, under his very own name.

Comprised of six tracks, Hawkins’ debut mini-album is titled Kota, and sees him take front-and-centre, singing lead vocals and playing almost every single instrument on the recording.

Range Rover Bitch is the first track released from the upcoming album, and it’s pretty damn obviously about a nasty divorce. The tune (below) is fired up with frustration, musically and lyrically. The electric guitars and drums are frantic and furious, as he sings, “The Range Rover Bitch took it all, the pre-nup meant nothing at all”.

Don’t fret though Foo Fighter fanatics, the band isn’t going anywhere; they’re just on a little hiatus after some extensive touring last year.

Kota is due for release on 11th November, but you can pre-order it here. Range Rover Bitch is out now, and you can stream it below.
