Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins: MTV VMAs “Don’t Mean F***ing Shit”

It’s been almost a week now but it seems like we’re not quite done with talking about the MTV Video Music Awards just yet, with Foo Fighters‘ drummer Taylor Hawkins giving his two cents on the proceedings, saying the awards ceremony “don’t mean fucking shit”.

His comments follow the revelation that 30 Seconds To Mars were made to accept their award for Best Rock Video at the pre-award ceremony, before the VMAs had even started broadcasting on American TV. Frontman Jared Leto told Huffington Post that fans should be disappointed by the snub, saying, “Rock music deserves a place there.”

But Fooey Hawkins doesn’t agree. When asked about Leto’s comments, he told TMZ, “I don’t care, man. Who cares? I mean, those awards are nice, but they don’t fucking mean shit. I make a living playing rock ‘n’ roll. I’m not going to complain about anything.” How very rock ‘n’ roll indeed.

Foo Fighters were recently ruled out of contention to be the third headlining act at Soundwave 2014, with AJ Maddah revealing that Dave Grohl and company would not be joining the bill. We can, however, expect a new album from the alt rock legends next year, with confirmation from producer Butch Vig that recording is taking place as we speak.
