Four Year Strong Release ‘Infected: The Comic Book’

Written by Mike Hohnen on July 19, 2012

Four Year Strong have been somewhat off the radar since 2011’s In Some Way, Shape Or Form. Though the success of the album saw them tour the world, and even come down for Soundwave 2012, the band has branched out even more, releasing their very own comic book associated with the track The Infected.

The pop-punk outfit, a crowd favourite the world over, released a number of other singles from the album, but were determined to add imagery in particular to The Infected, as they mention on their official website. The comic was written by band member Dan O’Connor and long-term collaborator Tom Colella, who worked with the band for their Tonight We Feel Alive video clip, illustrated and handled masterfully by Jamie Givens.

The comic is available through the band’s webstore for a fairly reasonable $15. There’s no real preview, though from the snippet you can see it actually looks very well done. It’s become very common for bands these days to try new things, and for fans/consumers, it’s brilliant. Stone Sour are taking a similar direction with their new album, teaming up with DC comics, though I expect that will be a much more detailed and in-depth concept.
