Franz Ferdinand Cover Grimes Track ‘Oblivion’

Franz Ferdinand have gone unplugged on Canadian electronic artist Grimes‘ single Oblivion. Tackling the very minimal, glitchy electronic track with acoustic guitars and sweet vocals, Franz’ rendition is the latest in a series of Oblivion covers that have surfaced since the track’s release.

Earlier this week, Franz Ferdinand unleashed their fourth studio effort, titled Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, it has received much acclaim from critics who’ve lauded its catchiness and its creative progression. It was also recently announced that the band would be making their way Down Under in November, for what is sure to be some dynamic live shows.

The band performed the unique cover on French radio station Oui FM, who are known for getting artists to perform unusual covers much like our own triplej. Some include Skunk Anansie covering Gotye, Puggy covering System of a Down, Mountain Men doing Nirvana, and Archive performing a soulful cover of The Black KeysTighten Up, which you can check out below.
