Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos calls Oasis “Fucking Boring”

Written by Marc Zanotti on May 10, 2012

Franz Ferdinand’s frontman Alex Kapranos has described defunct Brit pop band Oasis as “fucking boring” while responding to fans’ tweets yesterday.

The twitter back and forth between Kapranos and his followers began with one fan asking for some advice on how to succeed in the music industry. Kapranos’ reply began by warning the curious fan not to cover an Oasis song.

When another fan inquired into why one should never cover Oasis, Kapranos didn’t shy away from answering the question in a straightforward manner.

Kapranos also took a playful and understandable dig at NME (and thus vicariously other music news outlets) for creating a story out of his tweet.

Given ex-Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher’s penchant for expressing his opinions on other musical acts, it’ll be (mildly) interesting to see if he responds to Kapranos’ comments.
