Sydney dance label Future Classic will be staging a special ‘curated evening’ of its local live and electronic stars as part of the 2013 Perth Festival.
The event – to be held on Saturday, 16 February at the Chevron Festival Gardens – will be headlined by Flight Facilities, who are fresh from two years of touring in Europe, the US, Japan and South East Asia. They’ve notched up over 11 million views on their YouTube Channel and had a spot in the triple j Hottest 100 in 2010.
Also on the bill is the label’s newest signing – 80’s dance and yacht rock-tinged Panama, and former NME ‘Buzz Band’ recipients and local disco up-and-comers Mitzi.
Adding a local touch is the tropical, summery vibes of Perth outfit Scenic, who recently collaborated with French sports clothing brand Le Coq Sportif. Rounding out the bill are the Future Classic DJs, who are promising to fill the gardens with “classic soul edits, hip hop, disco and house grooves”.
It all sounds to us like a pretty cool way to spend a February summer’s evening in Perth – so if you’re keen, hop to it and grab your tickets!
