Gary Clark Jr. Australian Tour Dates September 2012

Texan blues man Gary Clark Jr. has announced a few Australian tour dates in the lead-up to his appearance on the Big Day Out 2013 lineup next year. He’ll be doing two September shows, one at the Tote in Melbourne, and one at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney.

Despite only planning to release his debut album this October, Clark has already performed alongside the likes of other blues legends B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, and ZZ Top. He’s even played to President Obama.

Clark began mastering the guitar at the age of 12, playing small gigs throughout his early teens, before hooking up with legendary promoter Clifford Antone, the owner of the famous Austin blues club Antone’s. Gary soon started to learn and play with a number of musical icons, including the incomparable Jimmie Vaughan.

His early blues experiences have moulded him into one of the youngest up-and-coming blues musicians of this generation. His shows this August will be but a taste of what we can expect when he returns again this summer to join other blues-influenced acts on the Big Day Out 2013 lineup.
