Geelong Folkster Olly Friend Debuts Rainy New Single, ‘Kaikoura’

Geelong troubadour Olly Friend has just unveiled a wistful new slice of indie folk dubbed ‘Kaikoura’.

The soothing, rainy day tune represents the first taste of the singer-songwriter’s 3rd EP Fight Or Flight, which is due out on September 19th.

After kicking off 2017 with a handful of sold-out headline shows, Friend is getting ready to hit the highway once again for a run of soon-to-be-announced local dates across taking place across April, before an international trek that will see him grace stages across Europe, UK and Canada.

The first show, however, will be going down in his bedroom on March 21st for an audience of just 15 people. Yep, that’s right, IN HIS ACTUAL BEDROOM. And you can be in with a shot of attending by RSVPing to the official Facebook event here.

Friend came up in the Geelong scene alongside the likes of Woodlock, Pierce Brothers and Tash Sultana, and over the space of a few years has gone from busking at Melbourne’s Bourke Street Mall to touring the world and playing alongside some of Australia’s biggest names, including Marlon Williams and Hein Cooper.
