Go Violets Hitting The Road In Honour Of New Single ‘Josie’

Straight out of a cramped Brisbane shed, surf-rocking 4-piece Go Violets have let loose their 2nd single, the latest instalment from their forthcoming debut EP set to drop later this year. Josie portrays a much darker side to the band but sees a nice trend developing in their sound.

Much like first single Runner, Josie is driven by some nicely fuzzed guitar and a beat that’s going to get stuck in your head for hours. The band’s tendency of adding texture to choruses with multiple harmonies is sure to be much to the delight of the listener. The all-girl crew have clearly put a lot of thought into their debut release, which is sure draw parallels with Best Coast, while still being its own thang.

It’s taken a bit of shuffling for Go Violets to find a line-up that stuck but now that it’s locked in, the band will be heading off on an east coast run this June. Josie will be launched first in the band’s home town of Brisbane before they kick on to Sydney and wrap things up in Melbourne.

Check out the brand new single below (tour dates under that) and prepare for a weapon of a debut EP.
