Gold Coast Festival Wallapalooza Drops Huge Local Lineup

Written by Emmy Mack on August 20, 2016

After branching out of the Gold Coast with two epic shows in Sydney and Melbourne this year, multi genre music festival Wallapalooza is returning to its home at the Wallaby Hotel to usher in spring with a monster crop of the best local Aussie music talent you may not have heard of (but definitely should).

Headlined by Australia’s own answer to Royal Blood, rock n’ roll power duo King Of The North – who’ve been tearing the country a new one in support of their brand new album – the 2016 Goldie-bred event will also see performances from hometown metal heroes Azreal, neo-soul r&b fusion groovers The Hanlon Brothers, industrial horror rockers Darkc3ll, Sydney’s heavy alternative kids RedHook, Brisbane’s sultry rock crooners Smoking Martha, EDM savants Free The Genie, Brissie-via-NZ alt rockers These Four Walls, Melbourne’s The Mercy Kills, NSW turbo blues-metallers Hammers and loads more.

90’s playroom favorites Junket Pump have also reformed especially for the event to serve up their first live performance with their classic lineup since bloody 1993!

Not only is Walla one of Australia’s longest-running independent festivals, it’s also up for another Event Of The Year gong at this year’s Gold Coast Music Awards.

The 18+ event is set to take over The Wallaby Hotel on Saturday, 17th September from midday, and entry – as always – is FREE.
