Goodgod First Birthday Celebrations

Sydney’s most recent thriving music club Goodgod, celebrates its first birthday this long weekend.

The celebrations take place from Friday 30 September to Sunday 2 October. The weekend’s line-up has been carefully curated by GoodGod’s Jimmy Sing and Marty Doyle to show exactly why GoodGod is here to stay.

Friday sees the UK’s hottest dancehall export Gappy Ranks headlining a diverse bill of urban sounds, including Guerre, Hoops, Levins, Toni Toni LeeBad Ezzy & Kweeng, Kato (DJ), Judgement & Sing, Firehouse, Max Gosford, Splitter, and Gonzo Huggz, all hosted by Shantan Wantan Ichiban. Saturday will be the last gig of 2011 for headliners The UV Race, along with hot tips Super Wild Horses, and a bill of other present and future talent, including The Twerps, Holy Balm, Belles Will Ring, Melodie Nelson, Fishing, Forces, Kill City Creeps and The Atom Bombs. For tickets click here.

Sunday is headlined by versatile and experimental duo Oscar & Martin, with a bold bill below them; the GoodGod House Band, a supergroup formed by Midnight Juggernauts drummer Daniel Stricker; Donny Benet; and a host of DJs including Hole In The Sky, Slow Blow, Jingle Jangle, Love Kings, Dynamite, Yo Grito, Perfect Snatch, Yes, Blackmail, Joe Gadget and host and MC, Long John Saliva. Beyond the music, of course the drinks will be flowing, there’ll be cake and The Dip, GoodGod’s ridiculously popular diner canteen run by Levins and Bianca Khalil, will be serving up special festival treats and hosting its own little soundsystem all weekend.
