Gorillaz Co-Creator Jamie Hewlett Confirms Group’s Return

Jamie Hewlett, the visual artist behind everyone’s favourite virtual band Gorillaz, has confirmed the group are returning to blow minds once again.

Whilst sharing brand new Gorillaz artwork (below) via his Instagram page, Hewlett replied to an eager fan’s query saying, “Yes, Gorillaz returns.” Revolt grabbed a screenshot of the comment, also below.

Hewlett’s new illustrations include both colour and black & white shots of Gorillaz member Murdoc, and a colour depiction of Noodle, just to get fans in the mood for some new Gorillaz magic.

Gorillaz are yet to share any formal announcement regarding their imminent return, but Hewlett’s fellow Gorillaz co-creator, Damon Albarn, revealed late last year that the band are “reactivating” for a new studio album in 2016.

The group’s latest album, The Fall, was released in 2011, following 2010 album Plastic Beach.
