Gorillaz’s First-Ever Live Interview Will Have You In Stitches

Gorillaz‘s new album Humanz is due out next Friday, 28th April, and in the lead up to the release two members of Damon Albarn’s virtual band have done their first ever live interview.

Gorillaz’s members 2D and Murdoc sat down with BBC Radio 1Xtra‘s Mistajam overnight, to answer some questions about Humanz, but got hilariously sidetracked after almost every question.

In-between attempting to answer questions about the album and its feature artists, as well as what they’ve been up to since their last record, the two virtual band members ended up telling dozens of side-splitting anecdotes about their lives.

Gorillaz’s drummer Russel Hobbs even called in to question whether 2D and Murdoc actually know anything about the album at all.

The best part was just how spontaneous and random some of the tangents and answers were. After some time, timid 2D and twitchy Murdoc even flipped things around and started to ask Mistajam their own questions. Watch the full interview, below.

Gorillaz surprised the world by dropping four songs from Humanz in March, and another track more recently featuring Mavis Staples.

They’ve also announced that Aussie actor Ben Mendelsohn will narrate the album, and that they’ve got a television show and clothing line in the works.
