Gotye Resurfaces On Bibio’s ‘The Way You Talk’

Gotye is back! Well, sorta. The world’s most famous Belgian-Australian will be lending his soothing vocals to a song called The Way You Talk, a collaboration with Bibio that will feature on the UK folktronica producer’s upcoming album, A Mineral Love.

This isn’t the first time Gotye’s path has intertwined with Bibio’s as the British producer, whose makes music that sounds half-hobbit, half-Aphex Twin, has previously remixed Somebody I Used To Know.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Gotye and Bibio turn up this bromance to 11. Bibio says Gotye’s voice is “unique”, “familiar” and “touching”, while Gotye yells to the world that he loved Bibio’s music “for a number of years” and that it was a “joy to sing” on this track.

Needless to say, both musicians feel rather enamoured with The Way You Talk, a clavichord-heavy song that spans somewhere between ’80s power ballads and contemporary indie synthpop, with Gotye espousing his soft spot for “short, musical vignettes” that resemble this song.

In terms of Gotye updates, it appears he’s midway through writing a new album. His last full length effort, Making Mirrors, was released in 2012. In Bibio’s case, A Mineral Love, his eighth record, will be released on 1 April.
