Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose Designs $100K Watch, Will Probs Still Be Late

Part of the experience of a Guns N’ Roses performance is the anticipation that builds as you wait, potentially hours, for Axl Rose to rock up. Well, now that glorious experience could be threatened, with news that Rose has designed a watch suggesting that the frontman might actually be on time from now on.

And you’d hope so too. The watch carries a price tag of USD$100K, meaning it’s very unlikely that it would ever lose time.

Rose created the time masterpiece in cahoots with watch powerhouse HYT, who unveiled it at this year’s Dubai Watch Week, which sounds like a riot of a time.

After five months of designing, the 25-piece limited edition timepiece was shown to the public just last week, and will be known hence forth as Skull Axl Rose.

The item features a 51 mm black DLC-coated titanium case with a micro-blasted finish, with an emblematic skull made of 256 layers of Damascus steel coated with a blue PVD treatment which according to Forbes is what creates the magical blue hue.

As it turns out, Axl didn’t fuck around with the design. HYT CEO Grégory Dourde complimented the rocker revealing, “Axl knew what he wanted.”

It remains to be seen whether this will improve Rose’s tardiness. Guitarist Richard Fortus revealed that Rose doesn’t really watch the time when it comes to planning his entrance to the stage, he just does it when he’s ready – watch or no watch.

You can tempt yourself by looking at photos of the watch below, however, at a cool $100k it won’t be easy and you may need to sell an organ or two.
