The long-awaited Harvest Festival second announcement will be taking place this afternoon from 4pm, after weeks of setbacks. Originally planned for last Thursday, it was shuffled to today instead, with a new list of acts to join the impressive names we’ve had so far, such as Beck, Ben Folds Five, and Mike Patton’s Mondo Cane appearing amongst the acts. It’s hard to think what could top them, but I’m sure we won’t be disappointed.

Around 8 bands are expected to be named, though this could have easily been increased by now. Hints for some of the acts include a truck, a Wonka and a lady called Eileen, according to Herald Sun reporter Mikey Cahill. The obvious one out of those is Dexy’s Midnight Runners, who are currently reformed and working on a new album. Promoter AJ Maddah didn’t seem too pleased with the leak. As for those other hints, it’s up to you to make of it what you can.
The only other bit of information we have is that an opportunity to include a last minute act came up, which was the cause for the delay of the announcement in the first place. This is clearly a hint that we should expect a surprise from what’s to come this afternoon, if not a few.
This year’s event will take place on the 10th (new date), 11th, 17th and 18th of November, and will return to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Last year’s ticket sales were high, which saw the Melbourne leg of the tour sell out, and it is expected to do so in similar fashion this year.
