Hear Alice In Chains’ First New Studio Recording In Three Years

The world has been gifted with a brand new Alice In Chains recording.

The legendary grunge act have hit the studio to bang out a cover of Rush‘s 1976 tune Tears off their iconic 2112 album.

It’s kind of a big deal for the iconic foursome, who apart from some sporadic touring (including a slot on the Soundwave 2014 bill) have been relatively quiet since their last release, 2013’s The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here.

The group have somehow made Rush’s eerily beautiful guitar ballad even eerier, staying true to the orig while endowing it with some of their own trademark style and dark, brooding vocal harmonies.

The track will feature on a newly remastered reissue of Rush’s landmark 2112 album, in honour of its 40th anniversary, which will also feature a cover of the disc’s 2112 Overture by Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters which you can listen to here.
