Hear Arcade Fire’s New Song ‘I Give You Power’, Featuring Mavis Staples

Arcade Fire have returned with a political new song titled ‘I Give You Power’, which features American singer, actress and civil rights activist Mavis Staples.

The new single, which the band have shared on the eve of US President Elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, is led by some marching electronic percussion and some politically-charged lyrics from Staples. All proceeds from the song are also going to the American Civil Liberties Union.

Sharing the song on social media, Arcade Fire and Mavis Staples say, “It’s never been more important that we stick together and take care of each other.”

Arcade Fire have previously performed ‘I Give You Power’ live, and it’s unclear if the song will feature on their next album. That said, the band recently revealed their new record is finished, and they’re planning a huge tour in support of it.

The group released their latest album Reflektor back in 2013. Stream ‘I Give You Power’, below.
