Hear The First Tasty Morsel Of The Living End’s New Album

Punk and psychobilly veterans The Living End have dropped a teaser for their new album. Premiering on Triple M this morning, the snippet is titled Monkey and pre-empts the release of a full song, which will happen on Tuesday.

From the small taste we’ve been given, it sounds like The End are staying true to their short-fast-loud roots with this track, though it might be a touch more radio friendly than some of their older material.

The band reported in July that they had finished recording the new album. Frontman Chris Cheney was quoted as saying that they wanted to “capture the spontaneity” of the band playing live on the album, adding cheekily, “It could be the biggest mistake of our career.”

This will be The Living End’s first release since their 2011 album The End Is Just The Beginning. In the interim, band members have been working on their own projects. Cheney has been recording a solo album while drummer Andy Strachan released his own solo album as The Pants Collective last year.
