Hear The New Song From Frank Iero’s New Project, Death Spells

My Chemical Romances’ Frank Iero has teamed up with The Get Up Kids’ James Dewees to make his side project, Death Spells, a reality. Now it’s full speed ahead for the pair who have announced their debut album set for release as soon as Friday, 29th July.

The album will be called Nothing Above, Nothing Below and will feature the group’s debut single Why Is Love So Disastrous?, currently doing the rounds and available to stream below, alongside the song lyrics which Iero kindly shared.

If the new track is anything to go by – which it is – the album is going to be an absolute scrappy fighter. Psychotic vocals battle against rapid-fire drums with plenty of gravel, and rusty old nuts and bolts in between the gabs.

The track is a fairly noticeable departure from anything either dude has done previously. But as Iero revealed in brief chat about the news, this is something that’s been in the works since the band was first announced some four years ago.

“The initial band started back in 2012 in an apartment in North Hollywood California, and because life sometimes gets in the way it has taken a back seat to other projects James and I have been working on. But I knew I could not go any further until these songs were revealed, and now Death Spells’ time has finally come.”

Frank’s been making a lot of waves lately, announcing various side projects and tours, his Australian fans love growing for him with each one.
