Hear Tkay Maidza’s New Single, A Thumping All-Star Collab Called ‘Ghost’

Tkay Maidza has hit us with a brand new musical concoction.

The Adelaide MC has just unveiled her latest single Ghost, an all-star collaboration with Sydney singer George Maple, What So Not and Harlem Shake hit-maker Baauer.

The pocket rocket rhyme-spitter stopped by triple j to have a chinwag about the pulsating new banger, telling the radio station “We wrote it in Sydney, then we worked on it in New York and met Baauer there – he was just vibing out with us”.

“Then we finally finished it a couple of weeks ago in L.A. so it’s been around the world, trying to finish it.”

The 19-year-old also gave a bit of a rundown of how each collaborator pitched in to create the track, explaining that she and Maple “wrote the chorus together and most of the melodies and singing [was] just us literally vibin’ out in our lounge room, just screaming random things.”

“What So Not, obviously he did all the production,” she continued, “And every time the second half of the verse kicks in, that’s when Baauer added in the deep bass bits, which is what Baauer does.”

Tkay also revealed that she’s been “working with lots of other people but I’m just waiting for everything to be finished and then I’ll say something”, with her album tipped to arrive in April or May next year.

Check out her latest slice of rave-rap, Ghost, below, and catch Tkay performing live at pretty much every Australian music festival you can name this summer, including The Plot, Meredith, Beyond The Valley, Lost Paradise and stacks more.
