Heavy D Cause Of Death

A medical examiner has announced that Heavy D (Dwight Myers) died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep vein thrombosis and there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. Pulmonary embolism can be caused by a blood clot which forms in the leg, then travels to the lung, which stops the blood flow. In the majority of cases, the clots are not deadly but because Heavy D also suffered from heart disease the combination may have been the defining factor in his death.

Heavy D died on November 8th. Police were called to his Beverly Hills home where they found the rapper conscious, but he was having problems breathing. He was then transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. TMZ also believe that his flight back from performing at the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales may have been a factor in his death as well. The blood clots may have formed in his legs due to his prolonged immobility on the long flight.
