Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Falls Festival’s New Ticketing System

UPDATE: The full 2017/2018 Falls Festival lineup has now been announced.

UPDATE 23/08/16: The full lineup for Falls Festival 2016/2017 has been announced.

ORIGINAL STORY: Falls Festival may have only revealed one artist on the 2016/2017 lineup, but that hasn’t stopped the hype for Australia’s biggest New Years festival from starting to amp up.

Following the revelation that Falls will head to Western Australia for the first time, festival organisers have just dropped some even bigger news.

The ballot is dead. That’s right, the infamous Falls ticketing ballot system, which has been used to curb ticket resales since being introduced in 2006, has officially been sacked. Fear not though, there are still plenty of ways to get your hands on tickets early before general admission goes on sale on Tuesday, 30th August.

For starters, if you’ve been to three or more Falls Festivals, you can apply to become a Friend of Falls and gain access to cool prizes and early bird tickets (similar to the way the Friends of Splendour system functions). Apply here before Monday, 22nd August – but you’ll need proof of your attendances in the form of tickets, car passes, photos of you at the show, or your posts on social media channels.

Additionally, if you are an Optus customer you can sign up to Optus Perks and be eligible for the Optus Perks Pre-Sale which goes on sale Thursday, 25th August.

Finally, Falls organisers have made some changes to the way that camping tickets. Again, following the lead of Splendour, punters buying tickets for Byron Bay and Lorne dates will have to purchase a separate camping pass in addition to their event pass. This has been done in an effort to make life easier for those wanting to stay offsite, check out only a couple of days, and for locals who live nearby
