Here’s When That ‘Mean Girls’ Musical Is Finally Arriving

Unlike “fetch”, Mean Girls: The Musical is about to happen.

That’s right, appropriately announced on October 3rd AKA Mean Girls Day, the groolest cult comedy this side of 2004 is set to premiere in Washington, D.C. in the American Autumn of 2017 (i.e. around this time next year).

Mean Girls movie mastermind and LOL queen Tina Fey has been hinting about bringing The Plastics to the stage for some time now, presumably so that we can all feel personally victimised by Regina George.

The Broadway-style production will reportedly be penned by Tony Award-nominated lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde The Musical), as well as Fey and her husband/composer Jeffrey Richmond (who did the titular song for TV’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).

And from the looks of some the song titles, it’s going to be saucier than the time Amber D’Alessio made out with a hot dog:

All we know so far is that it’s set to open in the States next year. So soz fellow Aussies, for now, it doesn’t even go here.

But hopefully that’ll change in the not-too-distant future, and then we’ll be all like:
