Here’s When Queens Of The Stone Age’s “Super Sexy” New Single Will Apparently Drop

Dear Splendour benders: we know y’all are more pumped than a giant inflatable Kanye to see Queens Of The Stone Age headline the Byron Bay bash next month, and we already know the band are going to be dropping a brand new tune before the festival.

And now it seems we know just when we can expect it, with US radio DJ Chris Payne of 104.1 KRZQ spilling the beans on social media that the song set to land in “two weeks”.

The jock claims to have heard the album’s lead single and tells fans “You’re in for a surprise”, adding that “the song has a super sexy groove”.

When quizzed by a fan as to whether the groove is “‘heavy’ sexy or ‘Make It Wit Chu’ sexy”, Payne replied: “Not like that at all. I’d say the tempo of the song is at 120bpm. More of a mid-up tempo sexy jam.”

Very. Interesting. Indeed.

It comes after the man himself Josh Homme revealed that QOTSA “took risks” to make their “uptempo” new album their “best yet”.

Whether or not this radio guy is legit, we’re pretty sure six weeks out from Splendour means it’s officially….
The final countdown.
