Over a weekend in October, Sydney Opera House will be showcasing the culture of the country’s first nations for Homeground Festival 2016. In the lead up, they’ve announced a stellar line up of talent for the event, including those of the live music variety.
Nine-piece force majour Dubmarine head the announcement, featuring the backing of a brass section and small crowd of vocalists who blend reggae, dub rock and more. North East Arnhem Land outfit, and direct dependents of the great Yothu Yindi, East Journey will be performing their unique brand of rock coated with earthy tribal sounds.
Anishinaabe acoustic storyteller Leonard Sumner will be performing as well as The Voice Kids/YouTube star Mi-Kaisha Masella. Capping off the musical selection is slow burning funk maestros Trinity Roots.
Also announced is the selection of dance performances, markets, food and workshops. You can check it all out at the official site.
