Hilltop Hoods Back Charity Campaign To Get Young Cancer Patients To Gigs

Hilltop Hoods‘ song Through The Dark chronicles the struggle that MC Pressure faced while he dealt with a six long stretch that his eight-year old song Liam spent in hospital undergoing chemotherapy.

Real name Daniel Smith, Pressure’s son had been diagnosed with leukemia, and turning to songwriting was his way of making sense of what was happening to his family.

Now, with Liam free of any sign of cancer, the Hilltop Hoods have announced that they’re going to be working together with Google to create an interactive 3D music video which will raise funds for CanTeen. That money will then be used in an initiative to get sick kids special access to gigs.

The powerful clip follows a father and son figure, based on Pressure and his son – and for everyone that watches the video $1 will be donated to CanTeen.

The animated video was created from a concept that allows viewers to change the way they view the clip between the light and dark versions. The video changes between the two when tilting or rotating your phone or smart device.

“Creatively the team at Google did an amazing job of translating the song into an experience that everyone could share,” said Pressure in a video explaining the interactive clip.

You can watch the interactive video for In The Dark here.
