In the wake of their big screen debut, Shazza, Franky, Kev and Abdul – better known as the dole bludgers from the smash hit series Housos – have announced that they will be pumping up the comedy side of things at this year’s Homebake 2012.
No, they haven’t grouped together to form what would probably be the funniest band ever (…yet) but the gang will be performing their twisted, infectious (both venereal and otherwise) Centrelink-funded comedy routine, adding some Westie flare to the stellar selection of funny men and women set to perform at Homebake. If you dug Housos vs Authority, Homebake is where you’re gonna wanna be.
The good times don’t stop there. Following the addition of Housos to the lineup, organisers have unveiled a slew of comedians also set to lighten to mood on the day. Rising stars Tien Tran are amongst them, including Sacha Marx, who has the power to sell out a whole run of solo shows, as demonstrated last year, and the self-appointed best bloke in the world, Ray Badran.
Of couse, what would a music festival be with out bands? Even more Aussie musical goodness has been injected into the fest. Triple j Unearthed kings Battleships will be joined by New South Welshmen Go Manson Go, whose talent far surpasses their pre-HSC years; South Coast 4-piece The Vanns; Tired Lion, coming in all the way from WA to showcase their Smashing Pumpkins-eqsue vibe; and the one-of-a-kind pop-reggae stylings of Blueberry Circuit.
