Jack White Has Enough Songs Ready For A New Album

With his debut album Blunderbuss only getting a release this week, Jack White has already been hinting at a follow-up, and in a recent BBC Radio 1 interview he revealed that he’s got left-over songs and material from recent sessions, enough to put out another album.

According to NME White spoke on Zane Lowe’s breakfast show, saying, “We had enough for an album at one point, but I just kept going” he continued, “I’ve got another 12 songs that I haven’t finished yet”.

He also explains that with his new found solo freedom he can explore past ideas that he couldn’t get playing in his former bands. “There’s songs that White Stripes never really played live, or Raconteurs never really got that into, or songs that I brought to the table in a band – songs like ‘Buffalo’ [from the Dead Weather] – and now I can elaborate on them”.

Jack White will be touring here in July on the back of his appearance on the Splendour in the Grass 2012 lineup. He’s also recently been brought onboard to score and perform the soundtrack for Disney’s The Lone Ranger, which stars Johnny Depp as Tonto.
