Jack White To Tour Australia With New Solo Album ‘Blunderbuss’

Jack White has mentioned in a recent interview with triple j’s Zan Rowe that he will be coming back to Australia to perform his new solo album Blunderbuss, as well as playing “the hits”, which we could easily assume means some time this year.

Rumours have it that he will be playing Splendour in the Grass this year, although they can only come from well-educated guesses. The full interview from Zan will come closer to the album’s release in April.

Blunderbuss was recorded and produced by White in Nashville and is the first album released solely under his own name after releasing around six albums with the White Stripes, two with the Saboteurs/Raconteurs and another two with the Dead Weather.

“I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name,” says White “These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”

So far we’ve heard two songs, the first single Love Interruption, and the latest single titled Sixteen Saltines.
