Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters) To Appear On The New Queens Of The Stone Age Record?

Could Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears be adding a bit of a fancy touch to the new Queens of the Stone Age record?

If his latest tweets are anything to go by, it certainly seems to be the case. Rolling Stone reports that Shears has posted a couple of tweets mentioning how he’s hanging out with Josh Homme and co – along with a photo with members of the band, which you can see up top.

Shears tweeted a few days ago: “I just got to do something insanely cool with some fierce Queens.”

He followed that up a couple of days later, saying that “after singing together for awhile, Josh Homme and I settled down to watch some educational films.” The attached picture makes it look like the guys were watching something very raunchy indeed.

According to Rolling Stone, Homme appeared in a promo clip for the Scissor Sisters’ most recent album Magic Hour earlier this year, so it looks like the favour is being returned via the album guest spot.

The new Queens of the Stone Age album is starting to become a bit of an all-star collaboration, with Shears joining Dave Grohl (drums), Trent Renzor, and original QOTSA bass player Nick Oliveri on the new record.

Queens of the Stone Age have locked in quite a few festival appearances in Europe next year; however, Grohl will not be touring with them.
