While they’re not exactly in his wheelhouse as their neo-soul music is world’s away from Metallica’s brand of heavy metal but his kids turned him on to the Aussie band and he can’t get enough.
“You know a lot of times I’m late to the party on certain bands,” he admitted to RUM Entertainment before saying that he and his kids were really digging the group.
“They’re hellbent on this band Hiatus Kaiyote from Australia.”
“It’s out there, wacky… I just can’t describe their music, it’s so cool,” he continued.
While he’s enjoying a little bit of Aussie neo-soul he did say that he mostly gets “vibed up” on ’70s and ’80s metal.
Hiatus Kaiyote have fans in many genres. Earlier this year, Drake sampled them on his More Life project and has also apparently been a fan for a while. Anderson .Paak also sampled them on his Malibu record.
