Jamie xx Has Opened A ‘Good Times’ Pop-Up Store

In most normal circumstances, you’d be pretty wary of a shop called the “Good Times Store” but in this case it’s Jamie xx‘s store and it looks wonderful.

Opened in The Bowery in New York City’s Lower Manhattan, the store is bursting with colour, designed around the cover for Jamie’s debut solo album In Colour. It’s full of signed albums and vinyl as well as a few second-hand records picked by the man himself. There also looks to be a bit of merch inside too.

The store is named after his track I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) and coincides with his performance the other night at NYC’s Terminal 5 which was broadcast live via Boiler Room. The performance saw Jamie bring out rapper Young Thug to perform Good Times for the first time live together.

By the looks of it, Jamie is taking over the whole of NYC. According to Pitchfork, he’ll be programming events at the store all week and his label Young Turks’ Instagram shows there is a “good times” flag flying above the city.

Jamie xx is set to play Beyond The Valley and Lost Paradise over New Years here in Australia. We’d be more than open for him to takeover Australian cities with colourful flags and shops if he’d like to.

The store in NYC will close 16th August if you so fancy a quick jaunt over there to pick up a signed record.
