Queen of cool Janelle Monáe is back, with the R&B soul singer dropping her high-energy video for Dance Apocalyptic, the second single from her highly anticipated second studio effort The Electric Lady, the follow-up to 2010’s The ArchAndroid.
Dance Apocalyptic sees a totally different style for the 27-year-old Kansas-born singer, with the lady and her band rocking a ’60s live TV performance vibe…but with a few surprises up their sleeves. The clip ain’t just a music video, it’s part of a forthcoming short film called The Dance Apocalyptic, of which a snippet cuts in halfway through the clip.
The Electric Lady is out 10th September and will feature a collaboration from the one and only Prince, as well as Monáe’s cover of Pixies Where Is My Mind and previous single Q.U.E.E.N., which features guest vocals from Erykah Badu.
