A Japanese Producer Remade Kanye’s ‘The Life Of Pablo’ Without Even Hearing It

While Kanye‘s The Life Of Pablo is now available on most digital music platforms, for more than a month it was only available on Tidal a platform that is not even accessible in Japan.

A Japanese producer genius TOYOMU decided that he wasn’t going to let his country miss out completely, creating an album titled Imagining The Life Of Pablo, that attempts to imagine what the actual album sounds like.

TOYOMU used lyrics sourced from genius.com and samples used on Pablo which he discovered via whosampled creating something that sounds nothing like the original but brilliant nonetheless.

It’s a weird and dizzying experience, particularly when he uses an alien voice to say Kanye’s lyrics, as he recreates each track one-by-one. If you haven’t heard Pablo, you might even find it a satisfying listen without any context.

“Subscription services in Japan are too slow, most people are still using iTunes and buying CDs. I thought it might be a good idea to make the whole album without listening to it,” he told Pigeons and Planes about the creation.

The album is now available in Japan but the producer has said that he still hasn’t listened to it.
