Jim Ward Is No Longer Part Of At The Drive In

At The Drive In are about to embark on an extensive tour but it will be without original guitarist Jim Ward.

The band took to Facebook with a short note saying, “As our ship prepares for voyage, we announce that Jim Ward will not be joining us on future journeys.”

“We wish him well and are excited to see you soon.”

At the beginning of this year it was announced that the American post-hardcore band would reunite, after breaking-up in 2012, for a tour and to release new music. While the band has not formerly announced any new music yet, a very brief snippet was shared earlier this year.

The band never officially confirmed the lineup for their upcoming tour and now a number of fans on Facebook are hitting out at the band for announcing this news so close to their first show on Tuesday, 22nd March in California.

“Maybe finalize that shit before you sell expensive ass tickets?,” one fan wrote while another wrote, “Not ATDI then”.

He was also featured on all the tour posters, which you can see below.

Ward co-founded the band with lead-vocalist Cedric Bixler back in 1993 and has been a part of all three studio albums. In 2001, when At The Drive In broke up the first time he started alt-rock outfit Sparta. They released three albums too with their last coming out in 2006.

Ward is yet to comment on the announcement.
