Joan As Police Woman Announces Australian Tour

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joan Wasser, who goes by the moniker, Joan As Police Woman, has just announced a string of east coast Australia tour dates in support of her new LP The Classic. Wasser will perform six shows this June and July in Brisbane, Melbourne, Meeniyan, Newcastle and Sydney.

Wasser made her mark with indie outfit the Dambuilders, and worked with Antony Hegarty and the late Lou Reed, among others, before embarking on a solo odyssey that stretches back to 2006’s Real Life. When asked about her new record, she says, “I’m in the best place I’ve ever been in my life.” Adding, “melancholy is still part of my life, but it’s no longer leeching energy from my life.”

Joan as Police Woman was last in the country for a sold-out tour in 2011 with the release of that year’s release The Deep Field. Joan As Police Woman’s, new album The Classic out now via [PIAS] Australia.
